If you have a live Christmas tree, the City of Katy encourages you to recycle it after the holiday.
Their Public Works Department will be picking up and recycling Christmas trees again this year. To accommodate when residents would like to take down their trees, they will have two dates for collection:
--The first pick-up will be on Monday, December 30th.
--The second pick-up will be on Tuesday, January 7th.
On these days please make sure you have placed your tree at the curb by 8 AM. Due to the volume of trees, the pick-up may take a few days.
The trees must have all decorations, ornaments, tinsel, lights and stands removed to be recycled. Flocked trees and/or artificial trees cannot be recycled.
If you are not able recycle your trees during our collection days, alternate locations for tree recycling are:
--Living Earth - Katy West, 27733 Katy Freeway, Katy, TX 7749, Monday-Friday 7 AM to 5 PM Saturdays 7 AM to Noon
--New Earth, 6205 FM 2855, Katy, TX 77493, Monday-Friday 7 AM to 5 PM
