Precinct 5 Welcomes Unprecedented Recruiting Class of 17 Deputies
Constable Ted Heap welcomed an unprecedented recruiting class into their Precinct 5 family yesterday. 17 men and women who just graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown Criminal Justice Training Center were sworn in and had their badge pinned on for the first time during a ceremony before a gathering of friends and loved ones at Kingsland Baptist yesterday morning.
Please join Constable Heap in welcoming these new deputies to their Precinct 5 family: Sheridan Fisher, Erika Ramirez-Mendieta, Breyona Harrison, Mark Cejas, Jeffery Paz, William Harris, Anguel Melo, Can Gokten, Timothy Garcia, Ernest John II, Tirk White, Cody Shelton, Jermel Hill, Marcus Vredenburg, Jonathan Ford, Gerardo Meza and Daserick Jones.
These deputies will begin working with Constable Heap's award-winning Training Division immediately. They will also be assigned a veteran field training officer to work closely with in their first few weeks in uniform as they learn the ropes of being a deputy in Precinct 5. Welcome to all! #constabletedheap #yourconstable
