The Orion Meteor Shower, linked to Halley's Comet, peaks Wednesday night into Thursday before dawn. Under ideal, dark conditions, it can produce up to 20 meteors per hour. The best viewing should come during the final hours on Thursday before daybreak. Look towards the east or southeast sky.

Awesome! I leave so early in the morning to go to work and it's still dark. Maybe I can see some driving in.

We saw a few meteors at about 5 am. But didn't stay outside for very long.

Fun fact: Hillside was incorporated shortly after the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1910, and for that reason, the team nickname of Hillside High School was made the "Comets" when the high school opened in 1940. Several local businesses take the name "Comet" for the same reason.

This is the town where I grew up.
