Katy ISD Pre-Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-2022 School YearOnline registration for the Katy ISD Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2021-2022 school year will open April 1, 2021! Parents must complete the online registration process through Katy ISD’s PowerSchool Registration website in order for their child to be screened for program eligibility. Pre-Kindergarten The Texas Legislature determines eligibility requirements for free, public prekindergarten in Texas. The Legislature established the prekindergarten program with the intent to provide early learning experiences to students who are most in need. The Legislature believed that a high-quality prekindergarten program could mitigate the impact of the at-risk characteristics, thereby assisting students to become school-ready when they enter kindergarten. Katy ISD offers a prekindergarten program for eligible students who turn 4 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which they intend to enroll. The District uses PowerSchool, an online registration process, for new student registration.
