Helping the Next GenerationConstable Ted Heap's deputies joined their cadets at the Harris County Sheriff's Academy for a Thanksgiving meal last week. They are thankful for these cadets, who will each join their Precinct 5 family when they graduate. Each cadet has a deputy who is assigned to be their mentor through the training process as they go through the challenges of becoming a licensed peace officer. These veteran deputies will continue as mentors even after these deputies join Precinct 5.
