Public Poetry, a non-profit poetry organization, will be at The Veranda at LaCenterra located on second floor above Las Alamedas. They are showcasing the following four talented poets:

Melissa Studdard
Melissa Studdard is the author of four books, including the poetry collection I Ate the Cosmos for Breakfast and the young adult novel Six Weeks to Yehidah. Her short writings have appeared in a wide variety of journals, magazines, blogs, and anthologies, such as The New York Times, Poetry, Psychology Today, The Guardian, New Ohio Review, Harvard Review, Bettering American Poetry, and Poets & Writers.

James Trotter
James Trotter is the founder of Space Rhyme Continuum. An improvisational poet, he's "lyrically gifted, totally unscripted." He's a hip hop, rhymer who keeps on the positive side, and is funny, entertaining and a really good poet.

Meta-Four Houston
Meta-Four Houston is the face of the teen youth poetry slam scene, representing Houston to the world at the international Brave New Voices festival. Each year hundreds of teens from across Houston come together at the Space City Slam Series, vying for a spot on the Meta-Four team. Outspoken Bean
2018 TCA Touring Roster, 2018 Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs Houston Resident Artist Program and 2017 Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Idea Fund grant recipient, Emanuelee Outspoken Bean is a performance poet, writer, compassionate mentor, electric entertainer, and educator.
